A lot can happen in a week

It amazes me how much a baby can learn in a week. Check out what Charlie has learned to do this week:)

Climb the stairs...
Pull himself up on Daddy's TV tray...
Watch out AJ...soon you will have to share your Saturday hotdogs:)

He caught on to waving..

crawls in after Daddy when playing the blanket game...

He went to his first wedding! Congrats Aunt Kristie and Uncle Travis :)

He started eating solid foods without gaging. That's a big deal around here. He may or may not of thrown up at Thanksgiving dinner when we tried to feed him a noodle a few weeks ago. :)
He has tried carrots, peas, and roast beef! He kicked his feet like crazy when he ate roast beef. I think he liked it:)

And his biggest "step" this week...

Charlie has also learned to drink out of a straw, splash in the bathtub, and now crawls under the Christmas tree and opens a present. Seriously...all in a week. BUSY BOY!

Smart Boy

Look what Charlie has caught on to... He does the clapping and the rolling all by himself :)

PS--We also had Charlie's 9 month appointment today. He was 19.4 pounds (31st percentile) and 27.5inches (23rd percentile). Little peanut!

Charlie's laugh

OMG...I LOVE baby laughs! Charlie has been teething and not in the best of moods. He is also fighting a running nose and cough. When he sneezed tonight I made the sneezing sound back at him and boy did he think that was funny. Now he laughs every time you "Achoo!" Nice to know that even when he's "grumpy" he still has a laugh in there.

Enjoy :)

PS...it is priceless to watch him watch this video...the look on his face is so cute!

Getting SOO BiG

I swear I blinked and the month of October was gone. I can't believe it is November!(I should be sitting here doing report cards....but I seem to be doing everything I possibly can instead.) I'll work well under the pressure of getting them done later this week :)

Charlie is getting so BiG. I can't hardly believe all that he is up to these days. He is on the move! Check out the videos and pics from this month...

Charlie turned 8 months --Oct. 12th

 1st Halloween :)

Charlie had puffs for the first time. He loved them and is getting really good at picking them up!

This is my favorite video. He has been trying for weeks to sit up on his own. He has finally mastered it.  AJ and I laughed because a few times tonight he clapped for himself after he sat up. I haven't caught that part on video yet. He is so proud of himself. :)

This video is from a few weeks ago..but he now notices the dogs when he is playing in the doodle bug. Tonight I caught him going around and around chasing the dogs.  Video to come soon:)

I am sure November will go just as quickly as October. And then it's time for Aunt Kristie's wedding!!YEAH! And not to mention report cards and conferences will be D.O.N.E. Yipee! Can't wait!

Charlie

Charlie,

Being your  mom is absolutely a dream come true. It is a role I always knew I wanted and to say I am enjoying motherhood is an understatement.

Each morning you are greeted by the doggies as I walk into your room. And as I turn on your lamp the doggies stick their heads through the slats in your crib. You kick your feet and smile that gorgeous smile-excited to see us all. You make 5AM  feel pretty great.

I love that when you see dad or I getting your bottle or your food ready you kick your feet and flap your arms as if to say, "Hurry it up, would ya?!"

I love how content you are playing on the floor, in your doddlebug, your jumper, your highchair, or just about anywhere. You are such a mellow baby. You make me smile as you get up on all fours and rock back and forth trying to get your toys. I love seeing your determination. It is a matter of days before you are in a full out crawl.

I love to see your face when you see me come to pick you up from daycare. You squeak with excitement and kick your legs so excited to see me. It makes me so happy to watch your daddy come home from work and scoop you up. You are happy to be reunited with him after his long day at work. There is something about seeing the two of you together. You two have your own special little bond and it is incredible to watch.

I love the way you grab for the puppies (one of these days you'll get them), the way you jump in your Johnny Jumper, how quickly you fall asleep in your carseat, the way you roll around when I am trying to change your diaper, and how you try to eat every book I read to you.

I love the way you finish your bedtime bottle and still fully awake quickly turn and snuggle into my arms and fall asleep with your last sigh of the night. This absolutely makes me smile--EVERY TIME:)

And last but certainly not least, I love the way you seem to melt into my arms. Whether you are mad, sad, tired, or happy you know when you are in Mamma's arms and you flash me that big grin of your and snuggle into my arms as if you know you are in the safest place of all. You melt my heart and remind me daily how lucky I am.

Being your mom is the ultimate job and you make it so easy.
