Charlie

Charlie,

Being your  mom is absolutely a dream come true. It is a role I always knew I wanted and to say I am enjoying motherhood is an understatement.

Each morning you are greeted by the doggies as I walk into your room. And as I turn on your lamp the doggies stick their heads through the slats in your crib. You kick your feet and smile that gorgeous smile-excited to see us all. You make 5AM  feel pretty great.

I love that when you see dad or I getting your bottle or your food ready you kick your feet and flap your arms as if to say, "Hurry it up, would ya?!"

I love how content you are playing on the floor, in your doddlebug, your jumper, your highchair, or just about anywhere. You are such a mellow baby. You make me smile as you get up on all fours and rock back and forth trying to get your toys. I love seeing your determination. It is a matter of days before you are in a full out crawl.

I love to see your face when you see me come to pick you up from daycare. You squeak with excitement and kick your legs so excited to see me. It makes me so happy to watch your daddy come home from work and scoop you up. You are happy to be reunited with him after his long day at work. There is something about seeing the two of you together. You two have your own special little bond and it is incredible to watch.

I love the way you grab for the puppies (one of these days you'll get them), the way you jump in your Johnny Jumper, how quickly you fall asleep in your carseat, the way you roll around when I am trying to change your diaper, and how you try to eat every book I read to you.

I love the way you finish your bedtime bottle and still fully awake quickly turn and snuggle into my arms and fall asleep with your last sigh of the night. This absolutely makes me smile--EVERY TIME:)

And last but certainly not least, I love the way you seem to melt into my arms. Whether you are mad, sad, tired, or happy you know when you are in Mamma's arms and you flash me that big grin of your and snuggle into my arms as if you know you are in the safest place of all. You melt my heart and remind me daily how lucky I am.

Being your mom is the ultimate job and you make it so easy.

A New Toy and A New Trick!

We left Charlie home with Grandma and Grandpa Weieneth for an hour today and we came home to a boy who knew how to shake his head "no!" Grandma and Grandpa swear they didn't teach him this. "He must have learned it from the big boys at daycare," they say.

HA! I think they have it out for us:)

Here are a few videos of his cool new toy and his new trick :)
